School Readiness Indicators Project

Ready for school, ready for life. How do we determine if our children have the skills and social-emotional foundation needed to enter school ready to succeed? How do we know what they need beyond the basic love and nurturing provided by their families? How do we determine if the preschool they are attending is high-quality early childhood education? What do our communities need to provide kids and families to support their success and what do our schools need to ensure they have the capacity to serve each child when he or she walks through the door on the first day of kindergarten?

Here you will find Colorado-specific data on 62 indicators chosen by the Colorado School Readiness Indicators Project Task Force that answer these questions and many more. The data is current and updated annually to reflect the trends and realities facing our children, families and communities. Each indicator falls into one of the domains listed above: Ready Child, Ready Family, Ready School or Ready Community
