Community Indicators |

|
Families do not raise
their children in a vacuum. The communities in which they
work, learn and live play an important part in helping a
child achieve school readiness by contributing to the
family’s overall quality of life and ability to find
employment, affordable housing, adequate health care and
high quality early childhood education. High quality early
childhood programs; access to good nutrition, health care
and dental care; and support programs such as recreation
centers, libraries, parks and before and after school
programs all contribute to ready communities that support
children and families.
Below are the Ready Community indicators selected to
measure how well a community is supporting the school
readiness of its children. Click on the indicator to see
the current data available, data source and a description
of the indicator’s relevance to school success. For
greater detail, see the referenced indicator number in the
Colorado’s
School Readiness Indicators: Making Progress for Young
Children under ”The Report."
